It’s easy to charge your phone these days because there are places to charge everywhere. In some places you do not even need to bring your charger with you. Even cars such as a Tesla model X (my favorite) can easily be plugged into any outlet around your house. What about when your mental battery is running low? If you had any desire, goal, or dream that takes significant time to achieve then you have experienced the phase where you lost all motivation. Your battery was running low. This is perfectly normal. The good news is there are ways to recharge your battery. There are three ways to get you motivated about your goal again.
Visualize goal achievement
This technique allows you to get excited about your goal again. It reminds you of why you wanted to achieve the goal in the first place. This technique is easy to do. Find a time when you are alone and quiet. You can have calming music in the background or you can sit in silence. You may find it helpful to take a few deep breaths to help calm you and clear your mind. Once you feel calm then begin to think about your goal. See yourself achieving the goal. It’s important to be as detailed as possible. What are doing? What are you wearing? Who are you with? How are you feeling? The more detail the better.
Share your goals through conversation
Tell your goals to your parents, your friends, your classmates, your teachers, your coaches, and even people you do not know that well. This will definitely recharge your battery. The more conversations you have about your goal the more excited you will be. Anytime you talk about your goals, desires, or dreams the more real they become. So if you lost motivation just starting talking about it to anyone who will listen. Who knows, one of them may be able to help you achieve your goal.
Take decisive action, no matter how BIG or small
Since your goal is in the distance future, it makes sense why you could lose motivation. That is why it is important to to take some action toward it not matter the size. When you accomplish anything towards your goal it will recharge your battery. It can be simply just researching about your goal. It can be just simply making a to do list. It can be as simple as writing something your calendar. Whatever it is, if you are no longer feeling motivated to pursue your goal then start accomplishing small tasks each day. This will not only get you motivated about your goal and it will also help you achieve your goal since you know that action is one of the main ingredients to success.
Do not allow a low battery to prevent your from achieving your goal. There are charging stations everywhere 😉.
